I have a configuration, rough order of materials (ROM) or build of materials (BOM) and want to get a quote and lead time.
I need an alternative due to OEM costs, End-of-Life (EOL) notices, or End-of-Service-Life (EOSL) announcements.
I’d like to receive cash or credit towards future Outside The Channel (OTC) purchases in exchange for my equipment.

What is “The Channel?”

OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) deliver their goods through a supply chain of distributors (e.g. Synnex, Ingram, Arrow, etc.) whose customers are authorized resellers and VARs (Value Added Resellers). These resellers and VARs then sell to end consumers or businesses. This controlled flow of goods is governed by agreements and commitments (e.g. controlled pricing, revenue requirements, partnership agreements, etc.) of which each participant is obligated to adhere.

Outside the Channel (OTC) is not handicapped by the same bureaucracies or supply chains, which allows OTC to deliver equivalent product or service more quickly and lower-priced.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Is OTC an authorized reseller of its offerings?

No, OTC is an independent reseller of refurbished or like-new condition hardware.

Where does your hardware come from?

Equipment becomes available through a number of sources:

  • returned, cancelled, or damaged orders from the channel
  • casualties of cloud-migrations
  • overstock and end-of-month, end-of quarter, or end-of-year liquidations
  • rentals, demos, or proof-of-concepts
  • bankruptcies or restructures
  • lease-reclamations
  • acquisitions or consolidations
What does like-new or refurbished condition hardware mean?

Once fully-functional equipment exits “the channel,” it cannot be resold as “new.” All hardware from OTC is inspected and restored to original condition and performance, through proprietary Quality Assurance (QA) testing where any defective components are discarded (e.g. recycled for scrap) or replaced before the hardware is retested prior to availability for resale.

Does hardware from OTC include a warranty?

Yes, all hardware shipped from OTC includes a 60-day replacement warranty and is eligible to be added to an OTC maintenance plan.
